Grading will vary depending on your assigned instructor. Here are some general guidelines. Remember to always consult with them if you are unsure about how to grade an assignment.
Regardless of which instructor you are grading for, be consistent. Make sure you take off the same amount of points for the same errors. It can be helpful to jot down notes while grading or during presentations. Avoid only giving negative comments. Give constructive feedback with examples so students can use your feedback to improve. Consult the Process over Product Rubric to grade specific assignments. Recall that if students have any questions about their grade in the class, they should consult with their instructor.
Undergraduate units at Tulane University are measured by credits that correspond to the number of hours the class meets per week. Most courses meet three hours a week and are valued at three credits.
University College, along with the other undergraduate divisions of Tulane, adopted a plus/minus grading system beginning the fall of 1981.
