Data Help Desk Starter Document
This year, we are piloting a data help desk. We have hired two students who are already part of the lab to fulfill this new role during this piloting period.
Once we get rolling, the idea is that you two would provide up to five hours of tutoring a week. You will open up your schedule in the app.
Students will sign up for slots and meet you in the ALTC.
The check in and the survey is all done in the app.

- Efficiencies: as tutors, we will choose any assortment of the below efficiencies to include in our tags on Penji. During a tutor’s onboarding, tutor’s will have the opportunity to take a short test/survey/discussion with a superior in the Data Help Desk program to become a tutor for any or all of the following:
- Data Collection
- Data Analysis
- Data Cleaning
- Data Visualization
- Discuss schedule and start date (see below)
- Discuss promotion plan (social media, flyer, email list and template,)
- Complete pre-assessment
- Tutoring and other services (SI or Social Media content – third objective)
